How do I measure my tub? Are there
standard sizes?:
To measure your mobile home tub, just measure from lip to lip. Round your figures to the nearest inch. There are only a few standard sizes used by the
manufactured housing industry:
- 27" x 54" (Standard Size. Sometimes called a
28" x 54")
Comes in ABS (Plastic) and Fiberglass.
- 42" x 54" (Standard Size. Replaced the old 40"
x 54")
Comes in ABS (Plastic) only!
- 44" x 54" (Standard Size)
Comes in Fiberglass only!
- 42" x 60"
Comes in ABS (Plastic) and Fiberglass.
- 48" x 60" (Largest Size)
Comes in Fiberglass only!
What is the difference between
the ABS and Fiberglass?
There are two materials that tubs are made from in the mobile
home industry:
ABS (Plastic):
- Lite Weight. Weighs 30lbs.
- Easy to handle and install.
- Works well for rental units
- Will last years with proper care.
Fiberglass:
- Heavy Duty.
- Crack resistant.
- Will last for years...and years, etc.
- Shiny, reflective finish.
How do I tell what 'Type' my drain
is?:
- Stand in front of your tub or shower (face it as though you will step in).
- Left Handed - Drain is situated on the left side of tub.
- Right Handed - Drain is situated on the right side of
tub.
- Center Drain - Drain is situated in the center back of
tub.
